Eco-Living Made Simple: Shop Sustainably with EarthHero

Sustainability is one of those things that requires a conscious effort these days. Most of the ways we shop are far from planet-friendly, and I often feel guilty about the amount of plastic I throw out with recycling each week.

A few weeks ago, I discovered a great way to shop some of the products I was already regularly purchasing on Amazon (like these silicone stasher snack bags), but on a website that promotes sustainable living and eco-friendliness.

To be more specific: EarthHero is a certified B Corp, which means they have met the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. They’ve been assessed, and scored, based on how the company impacts its workers, customers, community, and environment. EarthHero is also a member of 1% For The Planet, meaning they donate 1% of their sales annually towards sustainability initiatives and organizations that give back to the planet. They calculate how much carbon is emitted through the shipping and transport of products, as well as their day-to-day operations, and are dedicated to reducing their carbon footprint in every way possible: from the coffee grounds that fuel their days to the styrofoam packaging from their new printer, they compost and recycle whatever they can – even if that means finding special collections facilities for hard-to-recycle items.

Now, don’t get me wrong: as a mom, I am a big fan of Amazon Prime and how convenient it is. Two day shipping has saved my life more than once! BUT I must say that Earth Hero has really impressed and inspired me. Not only do they carry a TON of established products that I’d already been purchasing elsewhere for years, they also introduced me to some smaller, less known brands with high quality products. And these products range from baby products + wooden toys to ethical clothing + skincare to food storage + home organization. They have so many options to choose from!

If you are also moving towards natural, non-toxic, plastic-free products, I highly recommend you give this website a browse. They carry 120+ brands and are, in my opinion, starting an eco-friendly revolution that will change online shopping in the years to come.
