Hello pretty ladies! I’ve been so busy lately, it’s not even okay. I am pretty proud to say, though, that in the past two weeks MamaNaturelle went from 400 something followers to a little under 1,650 on Instagram! If you’re not following along, please do 😉
Seems like something silly to jump up and down about, but it is definitely not easy to build an Instagram presence. I have a newfound respect for style influencers! I really do. The amount of networking you have to do to build a following is time consuming and exhausting, but also very rewarding when you become a part of a community that supports and uplifts one another. When you go beyond the superficial, you realize that all of this positive energy and love you are giving and receiving on the daily does make your life a little brighter.
So, fellow Instagrammers, thank you!
Lately, you may have noticed a shift in my online presence. Now that Noah is 8 months (I know… already!), I’ve been slowly shifting away from pregnancy/motherhood/breastfeeding related posts. Not that my kids aren’t on the forefront (I’m basically a stay at home mom, remember? I define mom life!), but when it comes to my online/social media presence, I’ve wanted to focus on myself lately. And you know what? It’s been a breath of fresh air.
Moms know how hard motherhood can be some days, and how it can strip you of your identity as a woman. Everything that you used to embody before kids–fun, spontaneity, I can go on if you’d like–vanishes, until all that is left is you and your messy bun, snack crumbs, and Dora the Explorer on repeat. Some days, I don’t get to shower or make a decent meal, despite what you may think. I’m no Supermom, I’m like every mom out there… Just trying to make sure the day goes smoothly and that the kiddos are happy.
Future mamas, sorry to do this to you. But life as a mom can be draining. So darn fulfilling… but draining.
That’s why I’ve been loving that my Instagram has been all about me these days: fashion, beauty, networking with other fabulous women… I’ve been shooting with the amazing Jessica Fitzgerald of FitzkellerCreative, and having way too much fun with it. I’ve always been a fashion girl–I attended MBFW many moons ago and fan girled over every designer–and being able to play dress up and have fun being a model for a few hours has made me happy. Truly.
Now that this little speech is out of the way… I wanted to share with you the fall trends I’ve been absolutely loving lately. I’ve had so much fun being able to style them to fit my lifestyle, my own personal style, and obviously make them practical enough to wear on the daily when I’m chasing after a toddler and have an infant on my hip. No easy feat, but challenge accepted!
There’s just something so timeless about leopard… I remember falling in love with it in the fourth grade when I saw one of my friends’ moms wearing a leopard bathing suit. This fall I’ve gone through my stored clothing and found so many leopard tops and scarves – I’ve been wearing them nonstop, pairing them with corduroy or casual denim looks. Now, the question is… Should I splurge on a pair of leopard shoes?
This is the first time I’ve owned thigh high boots, ya’ll. And I’m loving them! I have a flat black pair that I wear with literally every dressy outfit, and I’m currently waiting for a pair of taupe heeled ones coming in the mail. They complement every outfit and add just enough sexy without overdoing it. I’m a fan!
This is another style that I never thought I’d be able to pull off. But done right, it’s so effortless and cute! I was really feeling this corduroy/mock neck bodysuit combo. And I love how perfect the colors are for fall!
Leather pants always make a comeback in the fall and winter. I should really get my hands on more pairs, but for now these leggings will do. I love pairing them with something a bit more casual, like a comfortable, cotton poncho.
Corduroy has been my big love this fall! I bought dresses, skirts, and pants in the past few weeks and have been wearing them nonstop. The texture just makes any outfit come together! I’ve mostly paired corduroy skirts with sweaters for a laidback feel.
I’ve loved this chic little trend and currently own five of them. They work with any laid back outfit to add just a little bit of sophistication. My favorite is to pair them with stripes for a Parisian look, but it also looks so effortless with denim. Today, I actually wore a burgundy and navy neck scarf with an off the shoulder waffle knit sweater and jeans. So cute!
